English Language
The Australian College of Kuwait English Language Programs are for students who wish to study at ACK, but who do not have an adequate level of English Language Proficiency to study at Diploma or Degree level through the medium of English.
ACK offers three levels of English Language training prior to entry to ACK Diploma and Degree Programs.

This is a one-semester Introductory English Language course which includes essential training in the four skills. Upon successful completion of this level, students will have adequate English language skills to move forward to the Intermediate English Language Program.

This is a one-semester Intermediate English Language course with an emphasis on building reading and writing skills. Upon successful completion of this level, students will have adequate English language skills to move forward to either the Business English Program, the Engineering English Program or the Aviation English Program. The program is determined by the Diploma to be studied in future.

This is a one-semester Business English Language course designed for students who need Business English for study purposes. Upon successful completion of this level, students will have adequate English language skills to enter an ACK Business Diploma Program.

This is a one-semester Engineering English Language course designed for students who need Engineering English for study purposes. Upon successful completion of this level, students will have adequate English language skills to enter an ACK Engineering Diploma Program.
Introductory English, Intermediate English, Business English and Engineering English
will include the following components:
- Speaking Skills – conversational English, group discussions, presentations.
- Listening Skills – listening for information, lecture skills, telephone skills.
- Reading Skills – reading academic texts and reports, internet reading.
- Writing Skills – process writing, reports, e-writing, note-taking, formal correspondence.
- Vocabulary Building – general terminology, management terminology, engineering vocabulary.
- Dictionary Skills – classroom and Internet dictionaries, using spell and grammar check.
- Internet Skills – writing and delivering presentations.
- Self-Study – independent self-placed skills practice.
- E-Library Skills – learning to use the electronic library effectively.
