What is vocational training?
Vocational education and training (VET) is education and training for ‘work’. The Australian VET system is one of the most sophisticated in the world because it is designed specifically to develop the knowledge, practical skills, and attitude required by the workplace.
Vocational training differs from traditional training in its emphasis on practical rather than just theoretical training.

How much does studying for a Diploma at ACK cost?
ACK courses cost between KD 1695 and KD 3070 per semester depending on your course of study. This fee includes a student amenities fee. Bank loans and scholarships exist to assist students who may require financial support.

Can I gain a university degree through ACK?
Yes you can. The university degree programs at ACK are based on a 2 + 2 model (2 year diploma + 2 year degree).
This means that if you successfully complete your Diploma qualification with the required grade point average (GPA), you will be eligible to enroll in the degree program of your choice. However, for the Bachelor of Engineering Technology, you will also have to pass the KMA152 Calculus and Applications Unit in order to be eligible to apply to the Bachelor Program.

How do I apply to ACK?
Applying is a simple process. You can visit our Mishref campus and speak to one of our Admissions Officers during our operating hours Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

How good should my English language skills be to study at ACK?
ACK offers you several options if you feel your English language skills are not sufficiently strong. If you wish to enter directly into the ACK Diploma Program, you will need strong English language ability. To help you reach the required standard, ACK will assess your current English level and provide you with a course of study suited to your individual requirement.

Tell me about ACK’s entry requirements.
Applicants may be granted direct entry to Diploma Programs if they have adequate English language skills and have a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent. Six IGCSE's is considered to be the equivalent of a Secondary School Certificate. Applicants who do not have adequate English language skills or do not have the equivalent of a Secondary School Certificate may be required to complete the Foundation Program before entry to the Diploma. At ACK, we treat every student as an individual, so talk with one of our experienced Admissions Officers, who will assist you in selecting what best suits you.

How many hours will I be on Campus each day?
ACK courses require you to attend the College every day, Sunday through Thursday. For the 2007/2008 Academic Year, there are two sessions – mornings or afternoons. You will be required to be on campus for five hours during this period. Evening classes will be offered for working students who meet its criteria.

Who will recognize my qualification?
ACK operates with a license issued by Amiri Decree in accordance with Law 34-2000. ACK's qualifications are endorsed by the Private Universities Council (PUC) and therefore are recognized by all Kuwait Ministries, Departments and Authorities. In addition, ACK graduates receive Australian qualifications that are endorsed by the Australian Government and are therefore recognized throughout the world.

Do you have mid-year enrolments?
Limited spaces will be offered to students wishing to commence with ACK in Semester 2 in February of each year. Early application is strongly recommended.

Does ACK have an Orientation Program?
Your Admissions Officer will advise when your ACK Orientation session will be held at the time of your enrolment. At this session, you will be given information about ACK, its facilities, support services and ACK’s rules and regulations. You will also be provided with information about the special nature of the ACK curriculum and how this will help you to gain the right knowledge, skills and attitudes for success in future employment.
ACK understands that your parents are very interested in your education and also wish to understand how you study at ACK. Your parents are welcome to come to orientation so that they may also learn about ACK. On your first day of classes, you will meet your instructors and learn the details of your course of study, schedule and methods of assessment.

When will I be given my timetable?
You will be given your timetable as well as information about session times during Student Orientation. You will study either in morning or afternoon sessions. You will be allocated a place in the session that you request unless there is no appropriate class for you in that session. It is very important that, as a student at ACK, you attend all your lessons on time, every time.

Am I able to transfer my previous study?
This may be possible; however, ACK can only make a judgment based on the information you provide. In order to properly assess your application, ACK needs to sight official academic results from both schools and universities.
