ACK offers Engineering courses for students who wish to pursue a career as professionals in the fields of:

The Engineering Diploma Program at ACK provides students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to gain entry level engineering drafting and design, fabrication and construction, supervision and technical positions.

Engineering Diplomas at ACK are broad-based diplomas that offer student training within a specific field of Engineering to Diploma level. Successful graduates from ACK Engineering Diplomas are qualified to enter basic supervisory positions over-seeing engineering processes.
All ACK Engineering Diplomas are two year fulltime courses. In some courses, the units (subjects) in the first semester are the same. It may be possible, in these courses, for a student to change their enrolment stream at the conclusion of their first semester of study with full, or partial, credit for completed studies.

There are five majors offered within the Engineering Diploma Program in as follows:

Diploma of Engineering - Technical (Mechanical) (MEM5025)

The Diploma of Engineering - Technical (Mechanical) is a course especially designed for students who wish to gain employment in the mechanical engineering industry as a technical officer or draftsperson. They will develop skills applicable to the mechanical engineering industries and particularly in computer aided drafting and design.

The Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering has been designed to meet industry requirements to develop, select, commission, maintain and diagnose faults/malfunctions of computer and network components/sub assemblies, apparatus and renewable energy systems at the Engineering Associate/Technical Officer levels. The Diploma has a focus on developing fundamental broad based electronic skills with electronic components and communication systems.he Diploma of Electrotechnology (Electronics) has been designed to meet industry requirements for the installation, maintenance and design of electronic equipment at the technician and technical officer levels. The Diploma has a focus on developing fundamental broad based electronic and hand soldering skills with electronic components and systems.

The Diploma of Civil and Structural Engineering is specifically designed to provide the training and education required for a civil and structural draftsperson. Civil and Structural Drafting entails using computer aided drafting in the production of structural and civil drawings and plans.

Entry requirements

Applicants may be granted direct entry to Diploma Programs if they have adequate English language skills, i.e. TOEFL IBT score of 71 or better; IELTS 5.5 or better (Reading and Writing Bands to be a minimum of 5.5); or ACK Entry Level Placement Test – direct entry level and have a Secondary School Certificate [Science Stream] or its equivalent. Six IGCSEs is considered to be the equivalent of a Secondary School Certificate. British School graduates must have Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry at grade D or better.

Applicants who do not have adequate English language skills for direct entry to an Engineering Diploma will be required to complete a minimum of one semester of English Language studies.

Attendance

Attendance is an important ingredient to student success in programs at ACK. As the nature of the learning is so practical, it makes sense that you must be in class to participate in these activities and learn the necessary theory.

ACK has strict attendance requirements that influence:

• The final grade awarded for each unit (and subsequently your grade point average)
• Your eligibility for re-assessment

All students will be advised of these attendance requirements as part of their academic induction.

ACK signs sponsorship agreement of 'Proud To Be Kuwaiti'.

The Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) has announced sponsoring the 4th Proud To Be Kuwaiti Forum, that is held under the patronage of HE Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al Mohammad, during the period March 15-20.
