ACK will entertain requests from students to change majors; however, the College reserves the right to refuse such requests.

Students at ACK can submit a request to change their major only when a number of criteria are satisfied. The criteria are:

Diploma Programs

The student must have a current GPA of 2.67 or better.
The student must have completed at least one semester in the course for which he or she originally enrolled.
The student will only be allowed one change of major, after which all further requests for changes of major must be directed to the Registrar.
All changes of major are subject to approval (in writing) from both the relevant Head of Program and the Registrar. If the student is a PUC Scholarship student, prior approval must be received from the PUC.
Change of major is subject to the availability of a place in the chosen major.
The student accepts responsibility for the payment of any additional fees that may result from the change.
The student accepts that their anticipated graduation date may be delayed as a result of the change.
Students should be made aware when changing majors that units completed when enrolled in one qualification will not necessarily be credited toward the new qualification in which they have enrolled. The implication of this provision is that a semester may have to be repeated.

Special needs or Hearing impaired students enrolled in a Diploma Program:

On submission of a formal certificate from the Higher Council for Handicapped Affairs, a PUC or self-funded student may apply to change their major with a minimum GPA of 2.50.
The student must have completed at least one semester in the course for which he or she originally enrolled.

English Language Programs – PUC Scholarship students

An English Language Program PUC Scholarship student wishing to change major is required to complete all required English Programs and the first semester of their nominated program before considering a change of major.
A student is permitted to change their major once after PUC approval.
A change of major is subject to the availability of a place in the chosen major.

English Language Programs – Self-funded students

An English Language Program self-funded student wishing to change major is required to apply before entry to a streamed level, i.e. Aviation English, Business English or Engineering English.
A student is permitted to change their major once.
A change of major is subject to the availability of a place in the chosen major.

Exceptional circumstances

In exceptional circumstances, one or more of the criteria above may be waived with the approval of the Director of Academic Affairs and the Registrar.

Students on PUC Scholarships

Students enrolled at ACK who are on PUC Scholarships and wish to change majors are subject to additional criteria imposed by the PUC. These criteria are:

A change of major for a student on a PUC scholarship must be approved by the PUC.

PUC rules that relate to scholarships will apply.

Students at ACK can submit a request to change their major only when a number of criteria are satisfied. The criteria are available from your respective Head of Department or from Student Administration.

Scholarship holders are subject to additional criteria and should familiarize themselves with the criteria prior to submitting a request to change majors.

Diploma and Foundation applications closed 28 September 2011. Applications for Semester 2 will reopen in December.

ACK signs sponsorship agreement of 'Proud To Be Kuwaiti'.

The Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) has announced sponsoring the 4th Proud To Be Kuwaiti Forum, that is held under the patronage of HE Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al Mohammad, during the period March 15-20.
