The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) at the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK), held the Teaching and Learning Excellence in the E-Era Forum on June 2nd 2021. The Forum was held virtually aiming to strengthen post-pandemic practical teaching strategies and reflection in real-life situations, to yield effective contributors to the job market and society that empower deeper reasoning, thinking out of the box, and long-term retention of information.
The Forum focused on tackling the subjects of distance learning and the changes brought upon the teaching and learning process because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Following keynote speeches, the Forum consisted of two panels. The first panel’s discussion focused on practicality in online teaching, while the second panel highlighted the role of technology in shaping the future of higher education.
The Teaching and Learning Forum takes place every year with topics that help enhance the teaching and learning experience of educators and invites local and international speakers with panel discussions and workshops to ensure educators are updated on new teaching and learning pedagogies.
Commenting on the importance of the forum, Ms. Rola Mourdaa, Manager of TLC, said: “I believe in the important role that us as educators play to contribute to the development of a nation and it is our responsibility to work in alignment with Kuwait’s 2035 ambitious economic vision. This forum served as a platform for educators to implement post-pandemic practical teaching strategies. Teachers make a difference every day, and we want this difference to count.”
