ACK Holds its 2019 Graduation Ceremony

ACK held its graduation ceremony on Monday, November 25th 2019 under the auspices of the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Hamed Al-Azmi at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

The ceremony was attended by Members of the Board of Trustees, International partners visiting from Australia and Canada, ACK academic and administrative employees, and family and friends of the graduating students.

Over 300 ACK students graduated from the diploma and bachelor programs. Out of the total number of graduates; 243 students graduated from the School of Engineering, 90 students graduated from the School of Business, and 10 students graduated from the School of Aviation.

The ceremony began with speeches given by Dr. Sa’ad Al Omari – Chairman of Board of Trustees, Mr. Alastair Dawson – Senior Deputy Vice Chancellor and Vice President (International and Services Division) at Central Queensland University, and Prof Isam Zabalawi – President of ACK. Two speeches were also given by two of ACK honor graduates Mohannad Elsayed and Mahsa Rahimi.
Prof. Zabalawi said “This is the graduation of a new cohort of the ACK students, and to confer upon them their degrees as an acknowledgement and endorsement for all the hard work they have put in during the past few years.”

In his speech, Dr. Al Omari, congratulated the graduates on their success and wished them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

“You have worked very hard, with honesty and integrity, to be here tonight. You have earned not only your academic qualification, but also the right to go forth into the world and to shape it. The future belongs to you and I wish you all the best in your careers and your lives,” said Dr. Al Omari.

In her speech, Mahsa Rahimi talked about her experience at ACK and how hard-work and perseverance helped her succeed and move forward. She also encouraged graduates in attendance to follow their dreams.
“ACK opened all the doors of opportunities for us. ACK was more than just studies; it has taught us patience, perseverance, independence and commitment. It is a place where I built upon my experiences and shaped my personality,” said Mahsa.

Mohannad Elsayed also extoled the importance of perseverance, and congratulated the other graduates for their success.
“Tonight we can raise our heads high and be proud of what we have achieved. I know it wasn’t easy but we have managed to find our way through it,” said Mohannad.
