ACK Hosts its 11th Engineering Projects Exhibition

ACK hosted its 11th Engineering Students’ Graduation Project Exhibition on Thursday at Boulevard Hall in Salmiya under the patronage of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, the Australian Embassy in Kuwait and Gulf Consult.

The exhibition was attended by H.E. Mr. Jonathan Gilbert, Australian Ambassador to Kuwait, along with members of ACK administration and faculty and served as a platform to provide engineering students with the opportunity to present their innovative concepts, reflecting their knowledge, competency and special technical skills acquired during their studies at the School of Engineering. Students from four engineering programs – Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Petroleum participated and showcased their graduation projects successfully.

H.E. Mr. Gilbert commented on the exhibition “The Embassy is proud of the students’ remarkable projects in terms of technical aspects. The ability of the students of the Australian College of Kuwait is remarkable”.

At the end of the exhibition, the winners were announced. The first civil engineering winning project titled “Optimization of reinforced concrete design using FRP laminates” by Abdulrahman Soufi, Abir Mohamed, Eilaf Ashkanani, and Zaid AlDouri, received both “Best Civil Project” and “Best Project by the Australian Embassy” awards.

The second winning place was awarded to the Mechanical Engineering project titled “RF controlled robotic vehicle with metal detection” by Emad Nuaman, Faisal Dughaiman, and Ala’ Omar. The third winning place was awarded to the Petroleum Engineering project titled “Oil spill remediation using magnetic separation via nanoparticles” by Abdullah Hamadah, Abdullah al-Mearaj, Ya’qoub AlEbrahim, Abdulaziz AlShatti, and Hanan Abdullah.
