|Representatives of the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) met with representatives from the Kuwait National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprise Development (KNFSME) to renew their mutual cooperation and collaboration agreement.
The meeting which took place on May 5th, saw the renewal of the contract along with talks of possible ideas for future cooperative ventures. The KNFSME group was led by KNFSME General Director Mr. Ibrahim Al Kandari, while the ACK group was led by ACK President Prof. Isam Zabalawi.
Both parties agreed to collaborate to push the CDIO Initiative for teaching engineering which includes a focus on hands-on and active learning. They also agreed to emphasize project incubation for electrical engineering.
Other possible future cooperative ventures considered included offering courses in entrepreneurship, which could help students who’ve designed projects and invented new useful technologies to market and benefit from their creation. KNFSME and ACK also discussed creating joint “accelerated programs” for students.
Prof. Zabalawi welcomed the new ideas and the increased cooperation and would further like to involve the KNFSME in ACK Student Graduation Projects in order to help the projects grow into viable businesses. ACK further plans to invite the KNFSME to participate in the Annual SMEs/Entrepreneurship competition at ACK.
ACK would like to thank KNFSME and its representatives for their efforts in furthering the agreement and looks forward to future cooperation.
