|The Australian College of Kuwait’s Corporate Training (ACK CT) Department successfully wrapped up its third installation of the “Health and Safety Matters” seminar. Under the theme of “Occupational Health and Safety - The Silent Hazard”, the seminar brought together business leaders and health & safety professionals to raise awareness on occupational and lifestyle-acquired diseases.
The seminar was also in support of the IOSH’s (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) recently launched initiative, “No Time to Lose”; a campaign focused on raising awareness of the hazards and risks of occupationally-acquired cancers, whereby ACK CT was the first organization in the Middle East to pledge its support.
In the opening speech, ACK’s Chairman - Mr. Abdullah Al-Sharhan - stated: “ACK believes it has a social responsibility to be at the forefront of health & safety in the state of Kuwait. Our commitment to this started in April 2013 when we concluded the first “Health & Safety Matters” symposium and followed this by a seminar addressing the hazards and controls associated with working in heat. Once again, this commitment has been demonstrated by our pledge of support to IOSH’s “No Time to Lose” campaign and through the provision of seminars, such as this, to help raise awareness best we can.”
