|ACK hosted a workshop about the use of economically sustainable membrane technology for water desalination with distinguished guests from around the world.
The workshop was organized by ACK Scientific Research Center and sponsored by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS). The objective of the workshop was to bring together academics and professionals from the water sector to learn about the most economically and environmentally friendly water technologies and its application for water treatment and management in Kuwait.
Among the distinguished speakers were Professor Adel Sharif, winner of The Queen’s 2011 Anniversary Prize for Water Research and Director of the Centre for Osmosis Research and Applications at the University of Surrey; Dr. Mansour Ahmed, Acting Program Manager for the Water Desalination Technologies Program at the Water Research Center of Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR); and Dr. Pouya Rezai, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at York University, and Researcher in the Field of Microfluidics.
