ACK represented by the President Professor Isam Zabalawi hosted the Head of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Kuwait, Dr. Samer Hadaddin, in appreciation of ACK’s efforts towards UNHCR “winterization” cause. During his visit, Dr. Samer stressed on their strong appreciation to ACK and thanked the College for their contribution in trying to make a change in the lives of disadvantaged refugees.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, the Teaching and learning Center at ACK organized a successful fundraising event back in February, which aimed to assist the “winterization” cause to help refugees from around the world prepare for the hardships of winter.
The UNHCR is a United Nations agency mandated to aiding and protecting refugees and forcibly displaced communities. It is dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for those affected by wars and displacements. Since its establishment in 1950, it has helped well over 50 million refugees to successfully restart their lives.
ACK is always keen to take on opportunities with positive effects on society in order to create educated, healthy and sustainable communities. The College would also like to thank UNHCR for their collaboration and is looking forward to future cooperation.
