|KNPC announced the winners of its 8th Annual CEO Health, Safety and Environment Excellence Award. Winners included Mechanical Engineering students at ACK who received their award from KNPC’S CEO, Mr. Mohammad Ghazi Al-Mutairi, in a prestigious ceremony held at the Regency Hotel in Kuwait.
As an initiative from ACK to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking, Mechanical Engineering students created a human body model that highlights the direct effects of smoking on the person, proving that even small amounts of smoking have immediate and lasting effects on the lungs and future ease of breathing. Another creative model was formed showing that smoking not only affects the smoker but also those around, especially children. Finally, through a third model, students also demonstrated the effects of smoking on the physical environment, such as plants in a room.
