ACK Students Awarded for Participating in Worley Internship

Four ACK students were awarded certificates for their participation in an internship organized and conducted by Worley. The Australian Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Mr. Jonathan Gilbert attended the event, along with representatives of Worley.

Representing Worley were Dr. Issam Hallal, Location Director, Mr. Mark Beardwood, Projects Manager, and Ms. Cory Archibald, Training Mentor. Also representing ACK during the event, Prof. Isam Zabalawi, President of ACK, Ms. Amal Al Shihabi, Assistant to the President for Institutional Relations, and Dr. Mohammad Abdul Niby, Dean of the School of Engineering.

Worley is a leading global provider of professional project and asset services in the energy, chemicals and resources sectors.

The internship program which was sponsored by the Australian Ambassador took place over the course of two weeks. Worley organized the program where the students were given an overview and an orientation on how a project management consulting firm operates. The students were also given focused sessions with specialists from their disciplines, along with on-site practical and hands-on experience.

Ms. Archibald praised ACK students who participated in the event, noting their hard work and willingness to learn during the program.

“The students from ACK are my favorite. They were always very engaged. They are very intrigued and asked a lot of intelligent questions, they enthusiastically participated in the project,” said Ms. Archibald.

ACK would like to thank Worley for providing its students with such a valuable opportunity and is looking forward to future collaboration.
