|Australian College of Kuwait (ACK) students recently won the Injaz “Company program” Annual Competition for High Schools and Universities in Kuwait for the second time in a row. ACK team represented by Business, Engineering and English Program students formed a company named ‘Meren’ and launched their first product called ‘MySO’ in front of the judges.
Students worked intensively over 6 months’ period after classes and in weekends to finalize their entry. The requirements for the competition included designing a company from scratch, starting with the need to raise capital, developing the product, marketing and selling, HR organization and tracking financials. The students assembled all their information and data into a formal business report and business presentation as well as preparing a booth to showcase their product, in addition to their appearance for a final interview with the judging panel before being declared as winners. The students who represented ACK were Talal Al Mouli (leading the team), Yousef Al Ali, Wafa Nauman Shaikh, Barehan El-Zohairi, Afsah Abdullah, Sara Dawara, Ali Al Sarraf and Ariya Dashti. Students received guidance from ACK faculty member Ms. Rupali Bhagat who was their mentor for the program and guided them throughout this successful journey.
ACK Mentor Ms. Rupali Bhagat commented that the “team’s continuous commitment from day one, their passion to create something innovative and their belief in themselves helped them to overcome each challenge and survive successfully till the end. Each team member has been able to develop life skills which will help them to succeed in future. ACK will now represent Kuwait in the Regional Competition to be held in November, 2019 in Oman.
